FEES & REBATES (FROM 28 MAR 2026)
Australian psychological associations (APS, AAPi) currently recommend psychologists charge a fee of $311 to $ 315 for a 50min standard consultation with a psychologist. At Mind & Body Psychology, we charge much lower rates.
Additionally, if you have a valid Medicare referral or private health insurance, your out-of-pocket costs could be even lower, depending on what rebates are available to you. See below for more information on fees and rebates.
FEE SCHEDULE
Director/Clinical Psychologist:
$275 per standard 50min Private or Medicare session
+$10 surcharge for your first session with the given psychologist (it is charged again if you swap to another psychologist in our team)
+$20 surcharge for outside-of-hours session (before 8.30am, from 5pm, and weekends; outside of hrs surcharge is waived for Bushwalk & Talk sessions)
$285 per Outdoor, Nature-based 50+min (incl. travel time) Private, Medicare; DVA price limit for DVA clients; DVA WorkCover limit for WorkCover QLD clients (requires case manager approval), and NDIS price limit for NDIS clients (note: travel time is additional); the ‘outside of hrs’ surchage is waived for these sessions
-$145.25 Medicare Rebate (must have a valid Mental Health Care Plan & referral), or $60.35 Medicare Rebate (must have a valid Chronic Disease Management plan & referral), or private health rebate (contact your health insurer to learn if you are eligible)
$232.99 per 50min plan-managed NDIS session
$239.85 per 50min DVA session
$359.90 per 90min DVA trauma-focussed session (requires prior approval and arrangment)
$267 per 60min Workcover consultation
+Letters, forms, and reports (outside of required Medicare letters) are charged at the usual hourly rate plus GST.
