Renae Kurth, Director / Principal Psychologist

Renae Kurth has been delivering psychological therapy since 2001. She is a registered Clinical Psychologist and a full member of the Australian Psychological Society.

Renae Kurth has conducted Masters- and Doctoral-level research on “What makes psychological therapy effective and how can we improve its effectiveness”, which remains her key research interest.  She has presented papers at international conferences on treatment effectiveness and taught psychology and therapy for many years at Brisbane universities (QUT and ACU).

Renae has worked in: 

  • child and youth mental health

  • adult mental health

  • perinatal mental health, and

  • family and parenting services.

She has a particular interest in Anxiety Disorders and has trained psychologists, GPs, and counsellors on treating anxiety.  She also enjoys helping clients manage depression, stress, grief and loss, trauma, major life changes, relationships, parenting, identity, and self-esteem. 

She provides LGBTIA+ friendly services and enjoys working with people who are transgender, non-binary, asexual, and/or intersex.

DR KIRSTEN FINN, Clinical Psychologist

Kirsten Finn has recently commenced practising at the Mind & Body Psychology premises. Kirsten is a registered clinical psychologist who has been working within mental health services since 2001.  She has a Doctorate in Psychology (Clinical) and is a full member of the Australia Psychological Society.

Kirsten has worked in:

  • Hospital, Emergency and Community Settings

  • Child & Youth Mental Health 

  • Adult Mental Health 

  • Perinatal Mental Health 

  • Public Health Promotion

Kirsten is experienced in providing psychological therapy for issues such as depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, life transitions, adjustment difficulties, relationship difficulties and parenting support. 

Kirsten focuses on perinatal mental health and has a particular interest in supporting women during their transition into parenthood. Kirsten previously worked at the Mater Mothers' Hospital in Brisbane for several years providing perinatal mental support.  Areas of special interest include:

  • Pregnancy

  • Antenatal depression and anxiety

  • Birth Trauma

  • Premature Birth

  • Postnatal depression & anxiety

  • Parent-infant bonding& attachment

  • Adjustment issues

  • Parenting stress
